Last month, our developers opened up access to the all-new calendar module. Over the past several weeks, we've continued to update and refine the calendar, one feature after another.
At a Glance
The Calendar has a clean, simple interface. Use the buttons at the top of the page to view a day, a week, or a month at once. You can create a new event from this screen by clicking 'add event', and the '...' menu lets you export the calendar as an .ics file (you can also copy the link and use it to create a subscription in your favorite calendar app).
Click the 'Add Event' button to create a new item on your calendar. A modal will open for you to enter information about the event- name, attendees, start and end dates and times, timezone, and whether or not the event should repeat (and at what interval). Events can include have a TIMU Hangout for remote attendees to participate, including by using the TIMU Messenger mobile app!
Changing Event Details
You can click any event on your calendar to open a pane showing the details of the event. The event detail pane also allows you to RSVP to an event or join the event's TIMU Hangout. There are additional tabs for event-related comments and discussion, managing attendees, and security settings.
Keep your favorite things in one place
The calendar on your home screen works a little differently than the other calendars in TIMU. You can't add events to the home calendar- instead, the home calendar will display the events from any calendars you've marked as favorites. You can export or subscribe to all your favorite calendars at once by using the '...' menu from your home calendar.
The Calendar module is still a work in progress, but it's already filled with useful features. We still have a few more features and integrations planned, but we want to hear your input too! What would you most like to be able to do with the calendar? Let us know in the comments section!
